Common Problem #1: Ice Maker Gets Stuck

An ice maker that gets stuck typically means there are ice clumps that are impossible to dispense. Ice clumps are caused by ice melting and refreezing. To fix this problem, remove the ice storage bin and break any clumped up ice. For a long-term fix, we suggest using the ice maker every day.

Common Problem #2: Ice Maker Not Making Ice

This is perhaps the most frustrating problem to have with your ice maker. The root of the problem is typically a failing water supply valve. If the valve become worn out or stuck, ice cannot be produced. Investigate the water supply line to determine if the valve needs to be replaced. If one of the component fails, the evaporator coils can end up with too much buildup and no airflow over the coils will cause freezing of water on the coils. While most homeowners can reset their freezer by turning it off for a day or longer, others freezers will need the defrost thermostat, heater, or timer replaced.

Water Leaks
